NikeRunning became the first Nike brand with R/GA to dive into augmented reality technology. With the launch of the premiere running shoe of the time — Nike LunarGlide+ — we took the opportunity to evolve the way consumers interact with their products.
Users reached the augmented reality experience by holding a print ad up to their webcams. Within the experience, they explored the shoe and participated in a social contest. Clues directed users to tweet to the LunarGlide+ Twitter feed, earning them a chance to win a pair of the new shoes.
– Acted as supporting producer and assisted the implementation of augmented reality technology into Nike site templates.
– Helped coordinate tech calls with third party providers (Total Immersion), QA, and schedules.
